A self-confessed ‘miserable old git since the age of 23, Ed Byrne is now in his forties.
While for others this might result in a crisis that prompts the purchase of a sportscar, Ed embraces middle age with open arms.
And as he truly comes of age, he gives out his clarion cry: “I am in my forties. Hear me roar.”
His Roaring Forties tour has been announced and he calls in at Margate Winter Gardens on Tuesday, February 25, at 8pm.
In the UK, Ed has become a regular fixture on television and radio. He is the presenter of What’s So Funny on BBC Radio 4 Extra, and has officially been named a ‘friend with benefits’ of the Shaun Keaveny Breakfast Show on BBC 6 Music.
On television, he has appeared on panel shows like Mock the Week, 8 Out of 10 Cats, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, and Have I Got News for You, and has made several memorable appearances on The Graham Norton Show.
The Sunday Times referred to him as “comedy’s holy grail - go see’, while The Times added: “Jokes come so fast that hecklers don’t have a chance to get a word in edgeways.”
Tickets are £22.50 and are on sale now via the box office, telephone 01843 296111.
