A huge garden centre site has gone on the market for more than £7 million.
Ramsgate Garden Centre, on Montefiore Avenue, is leased and operated by British Garden Centres, but the freehold is now up for sale and is advertised as an “attractive” investment.
Estate agent CBRE said: “This is an opportunity to acquire a dominant local garden centre in the south east of England let on a long lease with an attractive rental income.
“It comprises of a large indoor retail area, a popular restaurant and seven concessionary stands.”
CBRE further claims that the plant and flower store has a captive 190,000-strong customer base and limited local competition.
The eventual buyer could receive £521,920 a year from British Garden Centres, whose lease expires in 2049.
CBRE continued: “This is a 4.14-acre site with over 160 parking spaces.”
Inside Ramsgate Garden Centre are various other retailers including The Works, Skinners Sheds and Regatta.
Its leaseholder says: “This is one of the largest in the British Garden Centres group, offering a comprehensive selection to enhance any garden.
“With a vast plant area boasting an extensive range of seasonal plants, customers can find everything they need for their outdoor space all year round.
“Renowned as one of the premier garden centres in Ramsgate, visitors can also unwind at the Gardener’s Retreat Restaurant, which offers a tasty menu featuring main meals, snacks, sweet treats, and a carvery on Wednesdays and Sundays.
“The centre is ideal for a family day out, complemented by a fun soft play area for children.”
British Garden Centres has been contacted for further information.
