Get ready for Margate's Big Event

High energy aerobatics, spectacular loops and incredible fly-bys look set to wow the crowds at the Margate’s Big Event.
The two-day free festival at Palm Bay on Saturday, June 20, and Sunday, June 21, will feature Team Viper in their first ever UK display.
The new British team are all set to take to the skies on the Sunday, when highly skilled pilots with over 36,000 hours experience will fly at 42,000 ft at a speedy 450 knots.
Chris Heames, squadron leader, said: “2009 is our debut year and we’re really pleased that Margate will be our first UK show.
“It’s always exciting to be part of a great line up and Margate’s Big Event seems to be no exception. We’re really looking forward to Fathers Day weekend!”
Team Viper are the latest outfit to join an action-packed airborne line-up, which also includes the Red Arrows and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, as well as aircraft like the Hawk, Typhoon and Tutor.
On the ground, entertainment will include top street performers and musicians, a craft fair and a food village. The fun will continue long into the evening on the Saturday, with live bands and a spectacular fireworks display.
