Girl, 10, injured after bike thrown from overpass lands on her in Newgate Gap, Margate

A 10-year-old girl suffered multiple injuries and was taken to hospital after a bicycle thrown from an overpass landed on her.
The youngster was walking along Newgate Gap in Margate with her father when the child’s cycle struck her.
It is believed to have been hurled over railings from the street above, Ethelbert Crescent.
She was taken to hospital with injuries to her head, face, arm and back.
Police say the child-size black and green bicycle, was thrown by an unknown person.
The girl is now recovering at home after being discharged.
This incident happened at around 7.35pm yesterday, Saturday June 1.
A Kent Police spokesperson said: “Officers would now like to hear from any witnesses including anyone who may have recorded somebody pushing or riding the bicycle in the Ethelbert Crescent area beforehand. Please call the appeal line.”
