Margate: The Limes Medical Centre rated good by the Care Quality Commission

After being put in special measures last year, The Limes Medical Centre has been handed a rating of good by the Care Quality Commission.
The Trinity Square surgery was rated inadequate a year ago, and was upgraded to requires improvement last August.
The announced inspection at the end of March showed further improvements had been made.
Professor Steve Field, chief inspector of the general practice, said: “After the inspection in August 2017 the practice wrote to us with an action plan outlining how they would make the necessary improvements to comply with the regulations.
“The inspection carried out on March 27 found that the practice had responded fully to the concerns raised at the August 2017 inspection. The overall rating for the practice is now good.”
Key improvements identified include an increase in appointment availability, staff up-to-date with essential training and additional staff recruited.
Surgery bosses have thanked staff, putting improvements down to their hard work.
A spokesman for The Limes Medical Centre said: “An inspection from the CQC that took place on March 27 and published on April 16 have rated the surgery as good in all areas.
“The staff have worked hard to meet the standards and ensure that patients receive the best care possible. The partners and management would like to thank the staff team for their professional support. The surgery was taken out of special measures in August 2017.”
It was revealed this month that Garlinge Surgery, a branch of the Limes, is under threat of closure.
The centre could close by the end of the month, as the partners say it is “not suitable for providing modern day healthcare.”
A consultation for patients who use the surgery runs until May 4.
