Boy, 15, arrested after teens carrying hammer spotted at Ramsgate train station

A hammer was seized at a train station during the arrest of a teenage boy.
Police were called to Ramsgate station following reports a group of boys were carrying weapons at around 4.20pm yesterday.
Three males made off from the scene and officers from the British Transport Police (BTP) in Sandwich were called to assist with the search.
A 15-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and released under investigation.
It comes as officers from BTP posted about the incident on X, along with a picture of the hammer: “Our tasking team arrested a male for possession of an offensive weapon, namely the hammer pictured at Ramsgate after three males made off from police.
“We responded from Sandwich to assist them in a search.
“The male has been dealt with and released under investigation.”
