Thanet's only Harvester restaurant has confirmed it is closing its doors in a fortnight.

The David Copperfield in Broadstairs is due to shut on April 1.

A new buyer has already been found for the site - based just off the A256 Westwood Road opposite Asda - but it is not yet clear what the premises will become or who will be taking over.

A Harvester spokesman said: "We continuously review our estate to ensure that we’re always obtaining the best returns from each of our assets, and driving innovation across our brands, to enable us to continue to deliver shareholder value.

"Following an approach, we have taken the decision to sell the David Copperfield Harvester. The team have been consulted and we hope to redeploy as many employees as possible to other sites we operate nearby.”

Some customers say they have been given money-off vouchers during recent visitors to The David Copperfield.

Harvester has more than 200 pub restaurants across the UK - offering "great value, family friendly and tasty menu choices".

Once the Broadstairs pub has closed, Thanet's nearest Harvester will be in Herne Bay.
