An enterprising postman removed his footwear and rolled up his trouser legs before wading through a flooded road in Margate after heavy downpours this morning.
Dan Thompson, of Arlington House, watched vehicles coping with the testing conditions in All Saints Avenue.
He said: "Cars driving through the flood at speed are pushing the water towards neighbouring homes. Pedestrians, take another route!"
There is also flooding in Dane Court Road in Margate.
The Met Office issued a weather warning for rain at about 7am and the deluge is not expected to ease until 3pm.
Stagecoach South East has announced on Twitter that there will be delays to bus routes across Thanet.
