Ramsgate: Homeless man robbed in Royal Esplanade

Three men woke a homeless man to demand his tent and sleeping bag from him in an alleged robbery.

The victim, who is in his 40s, was asleep in Royal Esplanade in Ramsgate between 4am and 4.30am yesterday when he was awoken by the men.

The trio also ordered he hand over a quantity of cash.

All three offenders are described as white.

One was 5ft 11ins tall with short black hair and a trimmed black beard.

He was wearing a blue jacket, blue jeans and black Nike trainers and had a scar under his right eye. He had a local accent.

The second was 5ft 9ins tall, of a slim build and was unshaven with fair hair. He was wearing a yellow checked shirt and white trainers.

The third man was 5ft 11ins tall and was wearing a green Nike jacket, grey jeans and white Nike trainers.

Detective sergeant Neil Martin said: "We are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or who recognises the descriptions of the offenders.
