A fire which almost completely destroyed a bedroom at a Margate home last night is believed to have been started by accident in a bed.
Two fire engines from Margate and one from Ramsgate went to the two storey house in Vicarage Place at 8.30pm.
There had been one person in the house when the fire started but they had got out safely by the time fire crews arrived.
This followed initial reports that people may be trapped.
Firefighters used a positive pressure ventilation fan to remove dense smoke from the first floor and they were at the scene for two hours.
