Huge plumes of smoke was seen billowing from near Dreamland this afternoon.

Pictures show the black smoke rising into the sky near the Margate seafront theme park.

Mystery surrounds what the cause of the cloud of smoke to appear after the fire service confirmed no fires had been reported in the area.

A fire service spokesman confirmed they had not received any 999 calls relating to any incidents in Margate.
