Police appeal after family attacked in Thanet Road, Margate

Police are hunting a tattooed man after he swore at a family and punched a man.

The suspect approached the family in Margate on Sunday evening and started hurling abuse and shouting at them.

He was reported to be pointing his finger in a man's face who put his arms up and as he did was hit in the arm and chest.

Officers are now appealing for witnesses after the incident in Thanet Road shortly after 7.30pm.

The family and the attacker were not known to each other, police said.

A police spokesman said: "Officers attended the scene and carried out an area search but no suspect was located.

"The man is described as white, aged between 30 and 40-years-old, of slim build with short dark hair.

"He had tattoos on his arms, and was wearing a white t-shirt, blue shorts and white trainers."
