An iconic sign has been given a face lift at Dreamland.
The retro look has been redesigned around drawings and written accounts of what the original looked like in 1935.
Scaffolding was taken down around the neon illumination yesterday in one part of Thanet District Council's phase two development of the listed former Sunshine Cafe building on Margate's main sands.
My Colorful Past volunteered to painstakingly examine black and white photographs to try and see how the lights might have looked and how it could be recreated.
Matt Loughrey from the company said: "It's been a pleasure to see this project come to life and to see another 'real world' application of colourisation at such an iconic building."
Restoration work, which is part of the second phase of Dreamland led by the local authority is seeing the building transform into a space suitable for a restaurant.
'It adds to the nostalgic memories of all those who visited in the past' - Chairman of the Dreamland Trust Bernie Morgan
Chairman of the Dreamland Trust Bernie Morgan said: "It is great news for Dreamland and Margate that the lights are once again showing the way to the park for visitors and residents alike.
"It adds to the nostalgic memories of all those who visited in the past.
"It also helps bring another bit of Dreamland and the seafront back to life."
Repairs to the structure have included restoring some of the original seafront windows and putting in a new roof.
