An investigation is under way after a man fell from height at a united services club where he worked and later died from his injuries.
Eric Town, a much-loved Westgate resident, was airlifted to Kings College Hospital in London following the incident.
But tragically, doctors were unable to revive the Westgate United Services Club employee.
The incident happened at about 9am on May 24. Police were called to a report that a man had been injured after falling from a height in St Mildred's Road.
"Officers attended the scene with the South East Coast Ambulance Service and the man was taken to a London hospital," said a Kent Police spokesman.
A spokesman for Thanet District Council says it is leading an investigation into the incident under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
"As the investigation is ongoing we will not be able to provide any further comment at this stage," she said.
"Our sincere condolences go to the friends and family of the individual concerned."
