The coastguard was called after a jet ski with two people on board got stuck on some rocks.
HM Coastguard Margate headed out to save the pair at Stone Bay in Broadstairs on Thursday night, just after 8pm.
RNLI Ramsgate's inshore lifeboat was also drafted in to help, with crew assisting the people to get the ski back into the water, before towing it to shore.
Officers then helped the twosome get the motorised craft back onto their trailer and to their car.
Safety advice was given, highlighting what needs to be remembered when taking part in such activities.
A spokesman said it is important to have " a basic understanding of your surroundings and how your equipment works, a means of contacting the emergency services should the worst happen" and to also "let someone know what time you expect to be back so they could contact the emergency services on your behalf if you are not back in time."
In a coastal emergency dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard.
