Powerhouse drummer John Coghlan who drove the relentless rock boogie of Status Quo during the band’s for almost 20 years is back on the road.
Touring with his own band he is still rocking all over the world at festivals and gigs playing Quo favourites from his era with the band from the late 1960s to 1981 including Pictures of Matchstick Men, Down Down, Caroline, Rain, Rockin’ All Over the World, and many more.
His various post Quo bands - including Diesel, Stranger, Rockers (with Phil Lynott, Roy Wood and Chas Hodges), Partners In Crime, and The Bombers (with former Quo bassist Alan Lancaster) - enjoyed varying degrees of success in the record charts although were gold star rated live acts.
On Friday (April 2), John brings his latest venture to the Westgate Pavilion on Sea Road.
The first half of the show will be seated and the audience can listen to John talk about his 20 years with Quo, and there will be an opportunity to ask questions.
The second half of the show will be a full live set of classic Quo tunes, when John is joined by musicians from Predatur to recreate the sound of early Quo.
To find out more contact the venue on 01843 835611. Showtime is 7.30pm, and tickets are £15.
