A Kent grandmother-of-10 is set to compete on this year’s The Great British Bake Off.
Hazel Vaughan, from Margate, is a former nail technician who “loves nothing more than to gather everyone together for dinners and parties”.
The 71-year-old has four children - one still living at home - while the other three and her 10 grandchildren all live close by.
Channel 4 said: “Married to her childhood sweetheart for 51 years, Hazel loves nothing more than to gather everyone together for dinners and parties, and especially loves their get-togethers at Christmas.”
Hazel, who is appearing in series 15, has a knack for ambitious baked goods with working parts.
She has made several ‘car’ cakes with remote-controlled wheels and working lights.
The TV station added: “Her granddaughter’s seventh birthday cake was a carousel with 500 edible diamonds that took Hazel two weeks to make!
“When she’s not baking or entertaining her family, Hazel will be exercising her competitive streak, playing bingo.”
Hazel is joined in the Bake Off tent by fellow contestants Andy, Christiaan, Sumayah, Dylan, Georgie, Gill, Illiyin, Jeff, Mike, Nelly and John.
Season 15 of the Great British Bake Off starts Tuesday, September 24 on Channel 4 at 8pm.
