Police have released CCTV pictures of three people they want to talk to after a disabled pensioner had £300 stolen from handbag just before Christmas

Christine Taylor, 70, of Mentmore Road, Ramsgate, had the money and her bank card taken from her handbag in New Look in Ramsgate High Street at about 12.20pm on Thursday, December 4.

Mrs Taylor said: “I had just left the bank with money that I was going to use to pay the phone bill and my carer.

“I went into New Look to try some boots on but, because of my disability, I have difficulty bending.

“I was then offered help by a stocky man. He was solidly built, about 5ft 4in and around the age of 40.”

The great-grandmother’s suspicions were raised when the man stood to her left, smiling and laughing, instead of facing her to help with the shoe.

She said: “When he walked in front of me he blocked my view of my handbag.

“I’m sure he had an accomplice who rummaged through my bag while this happened.

“I only realised the money had gone when I went to Bon Marche straight after and tried to buy two items.

“When I realised I almost had a stroke. It was a calculated crime and I hope he is found and gets his comeuppance.”

Investigating officer PC Andy Collard said: "We would like to speak to those pictured to help us with our investigation and I ask anyone who knows who they are to call us as soon as possible."
