Listen up -- it's kmfm's Johnny Lewis

It’s always glass half full for me – a good dose of positive thinking is what we all need.

So while many people are moaning that the summer’s over with the passing of the last bank holiday before Christmas, I say don’t be daft, we are about to enter one of the loveliest times of the year.

The season of mists and mellow fruitfulness and all that poetic stuff is an apt description of the late summer weeks.

Indian summers are quite a regular feature of our weather these days and we have had some cracking warm – but not humid and clammy – sunny weekends in September. And there are also the beautiful colours of the coming autumn that make our parks and gardens a fantastic feast of vibrant colour.

Lots of groups, organisations and community teams get back together after the summer break. I am always happy to tell our listeners what you’re up to – so send me an email letting me know about your event.

My diary is already busy in the run-up to Christmas with a range of functions, including switching on festive lights and parades. I may be able to squeeze a few more in, so give me the details and I will consider every request on its merit.

And a final thought: you can always tell when the schools go back after the summer break, because that’s when the Christmas stuff starts to appear in the shops. Madness.
