Margate children from Space for Play nursery help Sunken Gardens restoration project

Youngsters got stuck in to help out with regenerating the Sunken Garden in Margate by planting flowers.
The children from the town's Space for Play nursery school visited earlier this month to help volunteers regenerate the seafront garden.
They planted new Cosmos flowers which help boost the bee population.
Flora Linklater, a teacher at the Canterbury Road pre-school, said: "We are around the corner from Sunken Gardens so it is very local to us and part of our community.
"We are going to go and see them again in a few weeks when they will hopefully be flowering.
"The children really enjoyed the planting and some had never done it before or visited the gardens so it was a great experience for them and we hope to work with them again in the future.
The Sunken Garden Society is working to revive the garden on Marina Esplanade and bringing it back to its former glory.
Volunteers are planning to enter the Royal Horticultural Society South and Southeast in Bloom competition this year.
Assessors will be visiting the garden later in the summer.
The group is holding a final working day on June 29 from 10am to put the finishing touches together.
