Police are appealing for witnesses after an air rifle was fired in a residential street.

A 27-year-old man was arrested following the incident in Appledore Close, Margate, at 8.50am on Tuesday morning

The weapon, described as having a brown stock and black barrel, was fired into the air.

A police spokesman added: “No injuries were reported and the man was later released on police bail.

“An investigation to establish the full circumstances is ongoing, including enquiries to locate the air rifle, and anyone with information is urged to call 01843 222289 quoting 46/83160/24.
