Suspected shoplifter charged after Ramsgate Waitrose worker and police officers assaulted

A man has been charged after a Waitrose worker and two police officers were assaulted.
Jordan Best, of no fixed address, is also accused of a spate of shoplifting offences over the last two months in Herne Bay, Ramsgate, Whitstable and Canterbury.
Items such as meat and fish have been stolen from Morrisons, Iceland, Co-op, Waitrose, Tesco and Sainsbury’s stores between March 12 and April 10.
Best was charged yesterday with nine shoplifting offences.
The 38-year-old is also accused of assaulting a member of staff at Waitrose in Ramsgate on April 3, one count of assaulting an emergency worker on April 10, and one count of causing actual bodily harm to an officer on April 22.
He was due to appear at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court today.
