Man denies murdering grandfather

A man denied murdering a 52-year-old grandfather when he appeared at Maidstone Crown Court today.
Thomas McConnell, of Hugin Avenue, Broadstairs, will stand trial at Maidstone Crown Court on September 16.
The 36-year-old is alleged to have murdered Andrew Worton, of Margate, between March 14 and 17.
Mr Worton was found seriously injured at a house in Hillbrow Road, Ramsgate. He was taken to the QEQM Hospital in Margate but died the next day.
McConnell was remanded in custody.
