A worker has died after an incident at a construction where new homes are being built.

Emergency services were called to the Barratt Homes development in Ramsgate following the incident last night.

Police and ambulance crews were called to the Spitfire Green development off New Haine Road, Ramsgate at 10.30pm yesterday.

Despite the efforts of paramedics, the victim who was working on the site was pronounced dead at the scene.

The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report is set to be prepared for the coroner.

A police spokesman said: “Kent Police was called to a report that a man had suffered injuries at a site near New Haine Road, Ramsgate at 10.30pm on Tuesday, November 14.

“Emergency services attended and a man was pronounced deceased at the scene.

“The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be prepared for the coroner.

“The Health and Safety Executive has also been informed.”

A spokesperson for Barratt David Wilson Kent said: “We are deeply saddened to confirm that an individual working at our development in Manston passed away yesterday.

“Our thoughts and condolences are with his family, friends and co-workers. We are supporting the teams on the site and relevant authorities as they investigate what happened.”

A Health and Safety Executive spokesperson said: “We are aware of this incident and liaising with Kent Police.”
