Man hit by car amid brawl in Yarrow Close, Broadstairs

A man was taken to hospital after he was hit by a car amid a brawl in the street.
Police were called to the incident in Yarrow Close, Broadstairs, as paramedics were treating an injured man.
Witnesses reported a disturbance involving a group of people which was followed by a collision involving a car and a man.
The incident happened at about 12.15pm on Monday.
The man sustained multiple injuries, including a fracture to his leg, and was taken to hospital.
A police spokesman said: “A man aged 18 and a boy aged 16 were arrested the same day on suspicion of affray.
“They were later released on bail pending further inquiries.
“A third man was also arrested and on Tuesday, William Tollington, of Chichester Road in Ramsgate, was charged with grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a knife in a public place.”
Following a hearing at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court, Tollington, 43, was released on bail and is next due to appear at Canterbury Crown Court on February 12.
