Man punched and hit with metal bar in Margate high street assault

A man suffered head injuries after he was struck with a metal bar in a town centre.
The victim, aged in his 20s, was allegedly involved in an "altercation" with a man in Margate high street, at about 7pm on Friday.
The thug allegedly punched him, before striking him with a metal bar.
Police were called to the scene at about 7.10pm, and the victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment to his head injuries.
He has since been discharged.
Detectives are now appealing for witnesses to come forward following the assault.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing and officers are urging anyone who saw what happened, or who has CCTV or dashcam footage which may assist, to call the police on 01843 222289, quoting reference 46/207635/20.
