A driver was lucky to escape serious injury after a car landed on its roof on a beach.

Police were called to Joss Bay in Broadstairs following the incident involving a black Nissan Juke.

Officers were alerted just after 8pm on Monday and confirmed there were no serious injuries.

The driver was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford.

Police tape was put around the vehicle, which had suffered extensive damage.

The circumstances of what caused the crash are not yet known.
