A 30-year-old man was taken to hospital after being tasered by police at Broadstairs train station, the force has confirmed.
He was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and assault following yesterday's incident at about 12.30pm.
Police cars and a van were seen by Budgens at The Broadway and Fordoun Road opposite Bosch Car Service, with the area cordoned off.
As a precaution, he was taken to hospital but is now in custody as inquiries continue.
A police spokesman said: "Officers attended and, due to the man’s demeanour, a taser was deployed in order to ensure the safety of himself, surrounding members of the public and officers attending the scene."
An investigation is underway and witnesses are asked to contact British Transport Police by sending a text to 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40 and quoting reference 265 of 04/10/2019.
