Ramsgate: Peter Manzi to go on trial accused of death by dangerous driving
15:34, 20 March 2018
A 24-year-old man will go on trial in August accused of killing a 90-year-old man by driving dangerously.
Peter Manzi, of St Luke’s Avenue, Ramsgate, appeared at Canterbury Crown Court to deny three motoring charges.
They follow an incident in Cliftonville in August last year when Margate pensioner Thomas Barron was hit by a motorcycle and killed in Northdown Road.
Now Manzi has pleaded not guilty to causing his death by driving dangerously, or carelessly while under the influence of drugs or when he was driving while disqualified.
Manzi appeared by prison video link and an application for bail was refused by Judge Heather Norton.
