The number of people in employment in South Thanet has risen for the third consecutive month.
MP Laura Sandys, who represents the constituency, has welcomed the news that 138 more people have found jobs in May to June this year.
The upward trend means that since March more than 400 people have been successful in finding work. Ms Sandys said: “This announcement is yet more great news for our area and will mean hundreds of local families now have more financial security.
“The recent monthly rises are far higher than we have been used to since the financial crisis. The average monthly increase in jobs per constituency for those three months was 90 so we are clearly racing ahead of the country.”
“With a booming local business environment, new high-speed rail connecting people to jobs, large projects such as offshore wind and the growth of the Discovery Park in Sandwich I fully expect this trend to continue.”
