Floral tributes have been left at the scene where a man was found dead this weekend.
Detectives were called to Broadstairs pier yesterday morning after the discovery.
The man is thought to be in his 50s and has been named locally as Phil.
Police and ambulance crews went to the scene at 7.40am on Saturday following the discovery.
Today, two bunches of flowers had been left on benches at the scene.
One card read: "Our dear, funny friend Phil. RIP. Love and thoughts."
The other featured a short poem: "Thanks Phil, for being a star, my wishes with you, wherever you are."
A local business owner, who asked not to be named, said: "We've been told it was a suicide.
"But we don't know if the gentleman was local or not."
A police spokesman said: "Officers attended but the death is not being treated as suspicious."
