A midnight firework display celebrating the New Year has been cancelled due to the bad weather.
Ramsgate Town Council revealed the show at the town's port has been called off due to rain and high winds - with wind speeds predicted to reach 33mph at midnight and gusts of up to 49mph.
The display will now be rescheduled.
A spokeswoman for the authority posted on Facebook: "Following discussions with Viking Fireworks ltd, we are sorry to report that the display scheduled for midnight tonight is now cancelled due to rain and high winds.
"We will look to reschedule in January if we can but in the meantime, take care out there tonight and hope you all have a Happy New Year."
Residents have responded to the post with support.
One said: "Very wise decision. The wind isn’t calming down at all."
Another said: "Makes sense stay safe everyone. Happy New Year to you all."
