Staff at a Ramsgate nursery are all smiles after their school were named as one of the top five in the country.
Fledgelings Nursery on Chapel Road was selected as a regional winner in the Nursery of the Year competition, run by the National Day Nurseries Association.
Judges praised the centre for its commitment to children, with higher staff ratios than required, and for how it supports parents.
They were also impressed by innovative ideas introduced by the nursery, including an out-of-hours service and a parent group.
Joanne Barton, founder of Fledgelings Nursery, said: “My team work incredibly hard and this recognition means a great deal to us.
“We have regular parent evenings and their input is vital and to know we're appreciated by them as well is just fantastic.”
Facilities at Fledgelings Nursery, which was established in 1986, include a library, a specially-designed room for babies and toddlers on the ground floor and a large hall for pre-school children on the upper floor.
