Man arrested after pedestrian hit by car in Northumberland Avenue, Cliftonville

A man has been arrested after a pedestrian was hit by a car and suffered serious injuries.
Police say a bronze-coloured Honda Civic car was travelling down Northumberland Avenue in Cliftonville when it collided with the man.
The pedestrian suffered serious injuries and he was taken to a London hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.
The incident happened at about 9.40pm on Friday.
A police spokesman said: “A 38-year-old man from Margate was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and being unfit to drive through drink or drugs.
“He was released on bail pending further inquiries.
“Investigating officers would like to thank all those who have spoken to officers already, and are appealing for anyone who assisted at the scene and has yet to speak to police to come forward.”
