Pensioner 'stable' after road accident

AN ELDERLY woman suffered leg injuries after she was struck by a car in College Road, Margate. The 70-year-old woman was hit by an Escort near the junction with Durban Road. She is being treated at the Queen Mother Hospital, Margate, where her condition is said to be "stable". The male driver was treated in hospital for shock but was later released.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to the accident that happened shortly after 5pm yesterday to telephone PC David Hague, 01843 222124.
