People living in a tower block in Margate have been evacuated due to a fire in the bin chute.
Six fire engines went to the scene of the blaze at Invicta House in Millmead Road, where the fire broke out at around 2.30pm today.
A Kent Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said the fire was in a section of the building’s bin chute.
"Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus have extinguished the fire and the building is being ventilated," she said.
"Two people are being checked over as a precaution by SECAmb paramedics, after suffering the effects of smoke inhalation.
"The cause of the fire is being investigated."
Invicta House has been a continual cause of concern due to a large number of fires.
In July there were two in one day at the 14-storey building.
Last year, three fires were started deliberately in the space of one week in April.
