Margate: Person rescued from sea opposite Turner Contemporary

A person in distress had to be pulled from the sea this morning.
UK Coastguard requested a lifeboat after the person was spotted in the water opposite Margate's Turner Contemporary.
Margate's RNLI lifeboat was out of service, and so Ramsgate's RNLI launched its lifeboat shortly after 8am.
While the lifeboat made its way to the scene, other shore-based emergency services were able to rescue the person from the water.
The lifeboat was stood down the the coastguard and returned to the station.
The person's condition is not known.
