Indie rocker Pete Doherty has revealed the opening date for the bar and studio space of The Libertines' new hotel.
He and bandmate Carl Barat have been teasing the launch of the Albion Rooms all year, but in a Tweet to his followers today, Doherty confirmed the bar - named The Waste Land after the poem by T.S Eliot - will finally open its doors this Saturday at 1pm.
The band bought the property on Margate's Eastern Esplanade in 2016 and have renovated it to include 10 rooms, a bar and recording studio spread over five storeys.
The hotel is expected to be completed in 2020 with the rooms and restaurant expected to open in the early part of the year.
Speaking to NME, the band said: "The Waste Land will be a home for international and local artists to perform poetry / live music and exhibit art.
“The Upstairs bar will initially be open to the public before becoming a private bar and lounge space for the studio and residents.
"For the first month both bars will only be open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
"The state-of-the-art recording studio is available for viewing and bookings.”
