A group of Hare Krishna monks is set to lead a pilgrimage for peace starting in Ramsgate.
The six day walk, which will make its way to Canterbury, will feature a temple on wheels pulled by two bullocks.
Beginning at 1.30pm on Monday, August 20, it will also include music, food, philosophy and dance.
They will be met by Canterbury Cathedral officials on Saturday, August 25 as part of a week-long walking Padayatra festival.
Organiser Mantra Chaitanya das said: "The festival will be a living example of how simple, traditional lifestyle choices based on genuine spiritual values can provide much-needed answers to twenty first century problems.
"The party will include residents of our famous London temples, one of which was donated to us by George Harrison, as well as members of our local community in Canterbury.
"The pilgrimage will be received by the Mayor of Ramsgate (Cllr Trevor Shonk) - where a full Vedic ceremony will take place at the bandstand in order to mark the beginning of the pilgrimage, and a free meal will be distributed to general public - as well as the Mayors of Broadstairs, Margate and Canterbury."
The walk is being held to promote the new Margate Mantra Lounge, a free community group being run at the Beet Bar cafe.
It will provide free meditation, cake and spiritual discussion groups on the first Thursday of every month from 6pm to 8pm, starting on September 6.
