A bungling burglar left clues at every Thanet home and car he raided earlier this year...his fingerprints!
Police found the thief's telltale dabs each time they were called out to five burglaries and a theft from a car.
Bulgarian Asparuh Stoyanov has admitted the six offences, which he carried out while under the shadow of a suspended jail sentence for another burglary.
Now the 24-year-old pizza delivery driver from High Street, Margate, has been given a 40-month jail sentence for the break-ins and the judge imposed the 10-month suspended sentence, making it four years and two months.
He appeared by video link from prison and the hearing was translated into Bulgarian
Judge Heather Norton told him: “These weren’t just offences against property but against people.
"Your victims, who were at home at the time, included retired people, professionals, self-employed people and families.
“And I have read their victim impact statements which describe their anger and fear which you have caused to their lives. And the financial loss and enforced changes to their lives to ensure their future safety.”
Prosecutor Simon Taylor told Canterbury Crown Court how all of the victims had all been in their homes when he carried out the attacks in late summer.
He said that Stoyanov broke into a flat in Norfolk Road in Cliftonville while the victim was working in another room and stole three mobile phones, four computer tablets and even raided the fridge for food!
At another property in the town he took a TV, Playstation and cash and then on September 11 broke into a flat and took a £600 computer and cash.
Mr Taylor told how Stoyanov also burgled another property in Cliftonville at 3am taking cash, jewellery, a tablet and a mobile phone.
In a statement, the victim revealed since the raid she had suffered panic attacks and left shocked and feeling isolated.
The devastated disabled pensioner said he had taken money she had put away in a jar to buy Christmas presents for her grandchildren.
Stoyanov also broke into properties in Bath Road taking a £500 computer and a car in Market Street, Margate, swiping a satnav again getting through an open window.
Kate Hunter, defending, said the defendant turned to theft to feed his habit because the money he was making by delivering pizzas wasn't enough to pay for the drugs.
