It's all systems go for Viking Academy Trust - after hearing it can go ahead with plans to build a new school site.
The new Ramsgate Free School, which will be based in Newington Road, will provide 420 places for four- to 11-year-olds.
If everything goes to schedule it is expected children will move to the new facility in time for the start of the new academic year in September next year.
The two-storey structure is set to feature state of the art technology, dance facilities, art rooms, a dedicated music centre and it will even have its own recording studio.
New playing fields and kitchens are also in the designs passed by Thanet District Council.
Head of school Nick Budge said: "This is fantastic news. It is something we have worked towards since day one and we can't wait to get going with the new project."
The decision was passed unanimously by councillors in the hope more school places will be made available to match rising demand in the town.
Mr Budge added: "Every afternoon from Monday to Thursday pupils are working with specialist teachers to explore a range of topics including music, dance, drama and art with PE also included.”
The school has been temporarily based at Chilton Primary School, Pegwell Bay, since it opened in 2015.
Trust executive Michaela Lewis said: “Achieving unanimous planning approval for our vitally important project for the young people of Ramsgate is excellent and exciting news.
"We have deliberated long and hard over the proposals for the new school design to ensure that we will provide the best possible progressive learning environment for our children."
