A fundraising campaign to bring a 'polar bear' to town has exceeded its £15,000 target.
Margate's Turner Contemporary ran a bid to bring Paula, a life size polar bear puppet, to the seafront this summer.
The gallery has thanked all of the 292 funders who donated, with a total of £19,288 raised.
The aim is to get thousands of people talking about climate change as part of its summer exhibition, Animals & Us.
Paula the polar bear will roam the town and grace the sands of Margate throughout the summer season.
On loan from Greenpeace UK, she has already travelled to Washington DC, Finland and Auckland to raise awareness of environmental issues.
