Police probe as man attacked and backpack stolen in Ramsgate

Police are urging a man reportedly attacked and mugged in the street at midnight to come forward after he left the scene.
Officers were called at 11.45pm on Sunday, August 18 with a third-party report that a man had been attacked by two other men in La Belle Alliance Square.
Police attended the scene and arrested a 55-year-old on suspicion of robbery as the victim’s backpack was reportedly stolen.
He has since been released.
The victim was not at the scene when police arrived and has not yet come forward since the incident.
Now investigating detectives are urging the victim or any witnesses to police to get in touch.
