Police have renewed their appeal for witnesses after the death of Westgate teenager Charlie Richardson.

The 14-year-old was taken to a London hospital in a serious condition after being hit by a car and later died of his injuries.

The King Ethelbert School pupil was knocked down by a silver Ford Mondeo close to the Beach Road junction in Westgate Bay Avenue at about 5.15pm last Friday.

Sergeant Hannah Brown from the serious collision investigation unit said: "We would like to thank those who have come forward so far.

"We believe there may have been people who stopped at the scene just after the collision and have not yet spoken to officers.

"We understand there were two women who were helping a nurse before officers arrived – possibly one was in a driving instructor’s car - and we would like to trace those."
