A nursery school was put on lockdown as police carried out a search in woodland this afternoon.
Officers were sent to the Townsend Montessori Port Regis nursery in Broadstairs to find a missing person.
Parents were told they could not pick up their children as school managers decided to close the doors while police searched the grounds off Convent Road.
Police say the nursery's decision to close was not based on any advice from officers and no members of the public were at risk during the operation.
The school has declined to comment.
