A teacher from Margate took home £125,000 after he appeared on an ITV game show.

Dylan Price walked away with the cash after he used his phone-a-friend lifeline on Sunday night's episode of 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire?'

The keen golfer, who planned to help pay off his parent's mortgage with his winnings, secured the money after he correctly answered: 'Which famous aircraft is also known as the Stratofortress?'

Dylan had a choice of four answers, including Boeing B-52 bomber, Hawker Hurricane, Lockheed SR-71 'Blackbird' or Avro Lancaster bomber.

However, the primary school teacher didn't know the answer so used the last of his four lifelines to call his aircraft-enthusiast friend Michael, who correctly told him to choose Boeing B-52 bomber.

Dylan then walked away from the competition with his winnings, fearing he wouldn't be able to successfully answer the next question.

He became a fan favourite early on after he raced through the first few questions to bag himself £1,000.

Jeremy Clarkson, the show's host, said he would love to shake Dylan's hand as he announced he answered correctly. Picture: ITV

When confronted with the £125,000 question, Dylan was left wishing he had the 'Ask the Host' lifeline still to play.

He said: "I do have a friend, Michael, on my phone-a-friend list and he is big into the military. So, I don't know the answer.

"He's big into history too, very big into World War Two, knows a lot about tanks. Tanks are his thing, I'm hoping it goes to aircrafts."

Michael told him to pick Boeing B-52 bomber for the answer, adding that he was "99 per cent" sure.

Host Jeremy Clarkson said: "I'd love to be able to shake your hand. That's the right answer, you've got £125,000."

Before walking away with his prize, Dylan was shown the £250,000 question: 'Which architect born in 1664 designed Blenheim Palace and Castle Howard?'

Not wanting to lose his £125,000, he decided to take his winnings and go.
