A pub which shut down six months ago reopened at the weekend.

The Bell Inn in Minster closed its doors in January when tenants Ken and Fiona Shewring decided not to stay on.

A post on Facebook on New Year’s Day informed regulars that the pair, who had run the pub for five years, had made the decision with "a heavy heart".

But now with a new manager, Sarah Cornwell, the pub welcomed drinkers back at the weekend.

Matt Lacey, of operators Cannon Leisure, said: "We have pleasure announcing that we have taken over The Bell Inn Minster.

"The Bell Inn is run by Cannon Leisure, based in Aylesham, who also run The Golden Arrow in Folkestone.

"Sarah Cornwell is the new pub manager, having worked at The Bell Inn under the old ownership.

"Sarah is a familiar face with the regulars and looks forward to welcoming them, as well as new customers to the pub."
