00:00, 14 December 2001
JUMPERS worth £1,860 have been snatched from Marks and Spencer in Margate High Street. Two men grabbed racks with the clothing on display, left the store’s High Street entrance, got into a waiting blue Mondeo and were driven off.
Police say that 19 men’s rollneck sweaters valued at £660 and 34 men’s v-neck jumpers, coloured navy blue and beige, were taken.
In store and high street CCTV camera footage is being studied. Both thieves are in their 30s; one was heavily built with short fair hair that is thinning, and the other has short dark brown hair and wore a light coloured jeans and jumper. The theft happened at about 3.15pm on Thursday
