Ramsgate's traditional and popular seaside carnival will return in 2010, organisers have confirmed.
The colourful parade, which costs around £10,000 a year to run, has been given the green light by officials and will play a major part in the town’s summer festivities once again on Sunday, July 25.
A lack of funds and fewer volunteers forced this year's event to be cancelled.
However, Ramsgate Carnival Committee has since recruited a new chairman, vice chairman, secretary, treasurer and publicity officer.
Fundraising efforts have also been boosted by a £4,000 donation from the Ramsgate Fund, presented by the Mayor of Ramsgate, Cllr David Green, at the committee's recent AGM.
