Remembrance Day services and parades will be held across Thanet on Sunday, November 14, to commemorate servicemen and women who have served their country and for those who are actively involved in conflict around the globe.

In Ramsgate the parade will assemble at Elms Avenue and walk along Queen Street, High Street and Church Hill to St George’s church, where the service will begin at 10.56am, followed by the laying of wreaths at the war memorial.

On Armistice Day on Thursday, November 11, at 11am there will be a service of remembrance in the town centre, and at the same time a short ceremony for the laying of wreaths at the war memorial in Ramsgate cemetery.

In Margate, the parade will gather at St Paul’s Road, Cliftonville, and walk to the war memorial in Trinity Hill for the service of remembrance and wreath-laying at 10.48am. At the end of the service, the procession will pass the Ambrette restaurant in King Street, where the salute will be taken.

On November at 11am, Margate charter trustees and mayor Cllr Mick Tomlinson will attend a short service and silence in Regal Walk, outside Peacocks. Members of the public and organisations are also invited.

The war memorial at Pierremont Park in the High Street is the centre for the Broadstairs service at 10.45am on Sunday, November 14.

During the evening a concert will be performed at the memorial by the Broadstairs and St Peter’s Concert Band from 7.30pm.
